GENERAL SERIES INFO:
This DVD contains a series of lessons from a guitarist with 30 years experience playing, performing and teaching rock guitar. The goal was to create a series of instructional DVD videos light on ego and unnecessary commercial filler. The emphasis is on easy to follow lessons full of bang4buck value with each DVD being the equivalent of many individual private lessons. This series covers each lesson completely through demonstrations, explanation and close up views of the fingerings. You progress at your own pace - playing easier parts first and picking up more difficult parts or leads over time as you progress.

This DVD series includes lessons that are designed to benefit a wide ranges of ages and abilities. Good basic guitar abilities are a prerequisite of this series and it is geared toward a range within the intermediate category. This series does NOT include any TAB or written material - its designed to teach thru visual and audio instruction and demonstration as well as training the ear toward the ultimate goal of being able to pick out songs by ear.

Montrose style guitar DVD:

Ronnie Montrose was part of an early rock guitar generation and his firey playing inspired many other great guitar heros and players throughout the 70-80's and beyond. Ask any guitarist what their favorite Montrose song is and they will probably name something off "Montrose" or maybe "Paper Money" albums. This DVD looks at the classic hard rockin guitar of "Montrose". Like most great guitarists from that era, he didn't just do either strumming chords or single note leads, instead he uses great riffs and single note lines as part of the chord structure and fabric of the songs. He often played in a 3-piece format which meant he didn't have the luxury of just playing long single note solos, so he mixes it all up to make it interesting - both for the listener and guitarist.  Therefore this DVD isn't loaded down with long time-consuming solos - but the riffs are plentiful, hard rockin' and so fun to play!

As always this DVD teaches their guitar style as a means to add to your own guitar vocabulary. Once you get these riffs and style down you can add your own flavor to make them your own. Great rock songs like these are also a great way to practice your own improvised solos. Standard pentatonic and blues scales work beautifully so use your imagination. As a special bonus I've included a free DVD with some sample backing tracks / jam-alongs for things like Good Rockin, Bad Motorscooter, Rock Candy plus a bonus lesson on Make It Last from paper money!
